Q-MAPS

THE FIRST LINK IS THE SENSOR LOCATION IN SEARCY ARKANSAS. UP TO 100 MILES FROM THE MONITOR STATION THE LP SENSOR WILL GIVE WARNING OF LOCAL EVENTS UP TO 3 HOURS IN ADVANCE. THE RP SENSOR CAN FORESEE 4.0 AND LARGER EVENTS
AT INCREDIBLE DISTANCE. THE RP CAN FORESEE SMALLER OR LARGER QUAKES ALONG THE NEW MADRID OVER 125 MILES FROM THE SENSOR. SMALLER 1 TO 2.5 MAGNITUDE NEW MADRID EVENTS ARE PREDICTED BY THE RP VERY COMMONLY. THE READINGS ARE IN REAL TIME, SO THE LOGS MUST BE CHECKED TO DETERMINE CURRENT RISK.

A 2.0 MAGNITUDE EVENT NEAR THE SENSOR CAN SHOW THE SAME READING AS A LARGE EVENT MORE DISTANT QUAKE. ONE SENSOR CANNOT YET DETERMINE SIZE OR DISTANCE. A SINGLE GEOTRANSENSOR IS VERY LIMITED IN THIS REGARD. RAIN WILL SOMETIMES THROW OFF THE SENSOR. ALWAYS CHECK THE WEATHER LINK DURING A WARNING PERIOD.

THIS IS WHY MORE FUNDING AND RESEARCH IS NEEDED.

Real time quake data from U.S.G.S. has never been dependable. In many cases the reports can be delayed several days by these government sources. Some are never reported.

LOCAL QUAKE READINGS NOT POSTED ON WEEKENDS BY USGS UNLESS SIGNIFICANT.
